Prep for Post™ Perinatal Professional Training equips perinatal professionals with evidence-based strategies to support expectant families through the prenatal and early postpartum periods. With postpartum mood and anxiety disorders being the leading complication of birth in the United States, the curriculum emphasizes strategies that all perinatal health providers can use to appropriately integrate critical perinatal mental health psychoeducation and screening in the prenatal period. The curriculum is trauma-informed, and focuses on early relational health while integrating culturally responsive, equity-focused practices to reduce disparities in birthing and postpartum outcomes.

The First Year™ Perinatal Professional Training offers a comprehensive framework for supporting families from birth to 12 months with an emphasis on responsive caregiving, developmental science, early relational health, and culturally attuned practice. This course prepares providers to screen and appropriately intervene with families in ways that reduce stigma and increase engagement with services. Providers will learn to use the First Year materials to deliver equitable, accessible, and trauma-informed postpartum and infant-support education in a variety of settings where parents of newborns access care to increase screening and accessible intervention.
